Actor Ankit Gupta has become a household name with his portrayal of Fateh in Colors TV show Udaariyaan. The handsome hunk has gained huge fan following with his stint and his chemistry with co-star Priyanka Choudhary Aka Tejo in the show is receiving lot of love from viewers. His show is getting very interesting with each passing episode. The current track of the show revolves around Tejo refusing to give divorce to Fateh while Jasmine (Isha Malviya) is leaving no chance to provoke Fateh against Tejo.
Meanwhile, Udaariyaan actor Ankit Gupta in a recent live session on Instagram spoke about things he would like to change in the entertainment industry. He also talked about the roles he really wants to play and revealed what connects him to the character and more.
Speaking about television, the actor revealed how actors are often not serious when working on TV and treat it as a different medium. The actor said, “I have seen a lot of actors not being very serious about when they act on Tv, as it is a small platform compared to web series and movies. But the essence of acting is what keeps me driving.” He tells how he can connect to the pain of the journey that the character goes through.
Further, Ankit spoke about always doing diverse roles and that has what enabled him as someone who has a wide journey in the sense of characters he has played. Right from Balika Vadhu, Begursarai to Sadda Haq and more recently, his web series Main Hero Boll Raha Hu. He also revealed how he wishes to play roles like that of Superman and James Bond among others, and he tried to incorporate that during his fantasy show Mayavi Maling. Ankit said though the show did not do well, he enjoyed a lot playing the character.
Talking about what he would like to change in the working of the entertainment industry, Ankit said, “Sunday should be fixed offs (laughs). In India, nobody wants to work on Sundays, no matter what you do or where you are, Sunday is a different feeling. Second one would probably be less working hours. Normal shift is for 12 hours, but we end up shooting for 14-15 hours, but if I can, I would probably bring it down to 8 hours.”
The actor added, “While you’re on set, you don’t come to know it has been 12-13 hours because you love what you are doing so much. Some days are so lazy that you just don’t want to get out of bed or do anything.”
When he was asked about what would he like to do on his time off, the actor said, “Since the time I started for Udaariyaan, I haven’t really got an off, but if I do have an off, I would like to sleep the whole day, meditate, so I want to catch more on those things.”
Udaariyaan is produced by Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta under their production banner Dreamiyata Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. & Devirosh Films. It is currently the highest rated fiction show on Colors channel and receiving lot of love from viewers. The show has marked fourth position in TRP charts among the top 5 shows of Indian TV. It has achieved 2.7 rating this week.
