Amid the ongoing NCB probe in drug angle related to Sushant Singh Rajput case, the Narcotics Control Bureau Chief Rakesh Asthan now arrives in Mumbai from Delhi to review the individual interrogations of Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan, and also oversee how far the Mumbai team has progress in the alleged Bollywood drugs probe.
The news reports state that he’ll be analysing and reviewing the reports of the NCB team in Mumbai and plan what future course of action needs to be taken to further investigate the purported Bollywood drugs link as well as decide who else needs to be brought in for questioning.
The report in Republic TV states, “Apart from Prasad, several Bollywood actresses – Deepika Padukone, Rakul Preet Singh, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan along with their talent managers –Shruti Modi, Karishma Prakash, and Simone Khambata have been questioned by the NCB on Saturday and their phones have been seized. The agency has been probing the ‘Bollywood drug nexus’ for weeks now and sources report that they are ‘unhappy’ with some of the actresses’ responses.”
Meanwhile, revealing some details of their probe, NCB Deputy DG (Southwest Region), Mutha Ashok Jain, said in a statement to the media, “We have recorded four people’s statements, that of Karishma Prakash, Sara Sultan (Sara Ali Khan), Deepika Padukone, and Shraddha Kapoor. The review will be produced before the honourable court on Sunday. Kshitij Prasad has been placed under arrest after questioning. I can’t disclose anything as it a part of our investigation. The evidence will be produced before the honourable court on Sunday. We can’t reveal anything as of now as the investigation is on, We have made a lot of recoveries. We will review and plan the future course of action.”
Speaking about Filmmaker Karan Johar‘s viral party video and whether the agency would be summoning the actresses again, he added, “The ongoing probe into Bollywood’s drug nexus has no connection to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa‘s complaint about the alleged drug party hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar at his residence in 2019. No fresh summon has been issued today. Can’t divulge anything as everything will be placed before the honourable court. About 18 people had been arrested in this case, and many have been interrogated as well.”
