Actress Aastha Chaudhary had a roka few days back. The Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na actress has found love in a doctor, Aditya Banerjee. She had a roka on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chathurthi on 10th September 2021. However, since Aastha had lost her dear friend Sidharth Shukla on September 2, she toned down her roka ceremony further. The actress had a hush-hush roka in Allahabad, Aditya’s hometown.
In an interaction with Bombay Times, Aastha talked about her Roka ceremony and recalled the moment when she told Sidharth about her roka. The actress said, “We had finalised the date in August after Aditya met my family. We decided to have our roka ceremony on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, as there was no other date available. Unfortunately, I lost a very dear friend (Sidharth Shukla) on September 2, so we further toned down the ceremony. I didn’t post any pictures or speak about it earlier, as it didn’t feel right.”
Aastha and Sidharth had worked together in TV show Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na, in 2008. They remained friends even after the show got over. The actress says that she had told Sidharth about her roka and upcoming wedding during a conversation. She quoted saying, “I was quite close to Sidharth. In fact, during my second last conversation, I told him about my roka. He was very happy for me. In his inimitable style, he had told me, ‘Sahi hai. I am so happy for you. Ghar basa le.’ After that, I connected with him last on August 17. I am still grieving and yet to come to terms with this loss.”
Sidharth Shukla passed away on September 2, after suffering from a heart attack. The actor is survived by his mother and two sisters. Some days back, a special prayer meet was held by the Brahmakumaris. Sid followed their teachings. Sidharth‘s last public appearance was on Karan Johar hosted show Bigg Boss OTT & Colors’ dance reality show Dance Deewane 3 with close friend Shehnaaz Gill. His last project was the web series – Broken But Beautiful 3.
