Singer-actress Shehnaaz Gill has been closely associated with Brahma Kumaris after the demise of close friend Sidharth Shukla. The Honsla Rakh actress has recently become the ambassador of a campaign started by the spiritual organisation for the empowerment of the girl child. On May 7th, Shehnaaz attended an event wherein she got felicitated by Brahmakumaris.
At the event, the Bigg Boss 13 fame talked about gender equality and also the difference between love and attachment. As per ETimes, Shehnaaz said, “Attachment hurts but love is pure. You don’t cry when you love someone. Whatever relationships you have with your brother, husband etc are temporary and will remain here only.”
Talking about gender equality, the actress said, “I want to say that stop making girls feel small. I am also a girl. It shouldn’t be that brothers should walk ahead of their sisters. If the brother will go, then the sister will go. Girls should not feel scared. Boys and girls shouldn’t be differentiated. We all should think we are souls then no one can harm us. Competition, comparison, and dishonesty will fade away if we think like this.”
Shehnaaz further requested everyone to let girls fly and let them do their own thing in life. She says that she is not perfect but she learns from her mistakes instead of blaming God.
