Shehnaaz Gill, Diljit Dosanjh and Sonam Bajwa starrer Punjabi film Honsla Rakh released yesterday in theatres on the occasion of Dussehra. The comedy-romance has received rave reviews from audience on the first day of it’s release. Honsla Rakh has become the highest opening Punjabi film ever.
As per Box Office India reports, Honsla Rakh has broke box office records as it became the highest opening Punjabi film ever with collections of 2.55 crore nett all over India beating the 2.43 crore nett of Shadaa. The collections in Delhi/UP smashed records by a distance.
The film collected 66 lakhs nett in Delhi / UP which is around 90% more than what has been seen for a Punjabi film and that includes films released before the pandemic. It has set a new target in Delhi / UP but this maybe a one off as its unlikely a Punjabi film can release in this way in Delhi city when Hindi films are also being screened. Rajasthan added another 6 lakhs nett while other circuits gave abother 7-8 lakhs nett.

Honsla Rakh is produced by Daljit Thind and Pawan Gill along with Dosanjh himself. It is directed by Amarjit Singh Saron and written by Rakesh Dhawan. The director of photography (DOP) is Baljit Singh Deo. The film is shot in Vancouver, Canada. Netizens has showered immense love and praises on Shehnaaz’s performance and lauded entire team of the film.
