Today (December 17, 2020), the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has summoned filmmaker Karan Johar for interrogation in drugs case linked to late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput‘s death.
According to the reports in Times of India, the NCB officials has sent a notice to Karan Johar in connection with the alleged drug party at his residence in 2019 in which several popular Bollywood celebs like Deepika Padukone, Malaika
An NCB official said that a notice has been given with regard to the video which was in circulation. NCB official KPS Malhotra said, “The notice has been given wrt the video which was under circulation. NCB had received a complaint from Manjinder Sirsa in this regard and was marked to Maharashtra Zonal Unit. To check the veracity of the video the notice has been sent.”
Sirsa, a Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader approached the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in September this year over the alleged drug party hosted at Johar‘s residence in 2019.
The drug angle in Bollywood came into light after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. SSR‘s Gf Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik was even arrested by NCB in drug case. They both are currently out on bail. After Rhea‘s arrest, Many B-town celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor. Sara Ali Khan and more was summoned by the agency in drug case. Recently, comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa was also arrested by NCB in drug case. Later, the couple was granted bail.
Actor Arjun Rampal was also summoned by the NCB for an appearance on Wednesday but the actor has sought for a week’s time to appear before the agency. The fresh date for Arjun‘s appearance is yet to be announced by the agency. This is the second time the agency has summoned him for questioning in connection with a drug-related case.
