Imlie actress Sumbul Touqeer is winning hearts with her portrayal in the show. In an interview, the actress revealed how her role in Article 15 eventually got extended as Anubhav Sinha was impressed with her work.
The actress who started her profession with Article 15 was supposed to have just 2 scenes in the film. Sumbul was playing the sister of the antagonist in the film, She managed to convince the director to offer her more screen time, with her amazing acting skills.
A source near the actress says, “Anubhav Sinha, who was the writer-director of Article 15 was super impressed with Sumbul’s performance in the film and he on the spot increased her visibility in the film.”
Sumbul told SpotboyE, “Firstly, I did not know what was happening. Whatever sir asked me to do, I followed all his instructions and when I saw the film I was in tears as my part was eventually increased. Apart from that, I was really moved by the fact that I had signed up for a small role but my name was included in the star cast and it did appear on the screen before the film started. I have no words to describe how ecstatic I was.”
The actress who’s just 17-year-old, has done many popular TV shows like Chakradhari Ajay Krishna, Chandragupt Maurya, and Isharon Mein. But, Star Plus show Imlie got her immense popularity and she has become a household name with her portrayal.
