Star Plus popular show Anupamaa is one of the most loved and successful show on television. The show stars Rupali Ganguly, Sudhanshu Pandey and Gaurav Khanna in pivotal roles. Few months back, actress Aneri Vajani entered the show as Anuj Kapadia’s sister Malvika. Her entry has brought many twists and drama in the show.
Few week ago, Malvika’s character was absent in the show amid Anuj-Vanraj’s fight and recently her character had returned for a episode. However, now the makers have put her character on a break.
In a recent interaction with ETimes TV, Aneri Vajani spoke about her absence in the show ‘Anupamaa’. The actress quoted saying, “The character started as a cameo and we received good feedback. But, with time passing, maybe, viewers were not able to digest the fact that Malvika could fall in love with Sudhanshu’s character.”

She adds, “The script was written in such a way that as time goes, Mukku falls in love with Vanraj and there are more twists and turns. My character was also such that she was moody and did things spontaneously. So initially, people liked her, therefore I don’t have anything to complain about. I had two very interesting scenes in the show, the first one revolved around her past and the second one during the Christmas party.”
She further said, “People forget that at the end of the day, it is Anupama’s show, so Mukku can’t always be around. My character was always a cameo, so I am happy with whatever I was dished out. Besides, I have hardly done shows where I have had a cameo. I would always want to play the lead in a new TV show. As of now in Anupama, my character is on a break.”
The show is produced by Rajan Shahi under Director’s Kut Productions. The show is based on Star Jalsha’s Bengali series Sreemoyee. There’s also a Marathi version of the show which runs on Star Pravah titled Aai Kuthe Kai Karte. It stars actors like Aneri Vajani, Madalsa Sharma, Alpana Buch, Arvind Vaidya, Paras Kalnawat, Aashish Mehrotra. Muskan Bamne, Shekhar Shukla, Nidhi Shah, Anagha Bhosale and Tassnim Sheikh.
