Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput death case has been handed over to CBI. The Centre has reportedly informed the Supreme Court that the Bihar government’s recommendation for a CBI probe into death case of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput has been accepted.
This announcement comes a day after the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar sent the Centre the request on receiving the consent of the actor’s father KK Singh. The CBI, which falls under the Union Home Ministry, will now take over the probe.
In an update on ANI, SG Tushar Mehta on Wednesday stated before the Supreme Court that the Centre has accepted the Bihar government’s recommendation for a CBI inquiry. It also reported that the apex court is hearing Rhea Chakraborty‘s petition seeking direction for a transfer of the probe from Patna to Mumbai. ANI tweeted about the same, have a look.
At the the Supreme Court hearing, Sushant‘s family lawyer Vikas Singh said that the evidence is being tampered by the Mumbai Police. The lawyer of Maharashtra Government R Basant said at the Supreme Court hearing, that the allegations against the Mumbai Police are politically motivated and that there is no jurisdiction for Bihar Police to register a FIR and also, he said that the Bihar Police has no right to sit in judgement of Mumbai Police’s investigation.
After which, the SC said that the Mumbai Police has registered a case of unnatural death and the FIR in Patna has raised other issues as well. Meanwhile, the SC has asked Maharashtra government, Bihar government, the Centre and Sushant Singh Rajput‘s family to file their replies within 3 days as the next hearing regarding the case will be held next week.
As per latest development in Sushant Singh Rajput death case, Rhea Chakraborty‘s lawyer had requested for a protective order, but Supreme court denies interim protection to her. So now, the Bihar police can question Rhea Chakraborty.
