Malayalam Film filmmaker and scriptwriter KR Sachidanandan, popularly known as Sachy passed away on June 18. On June 16, Sachy suffered a cardiac arrest and put on a ventilator. He admitted to Jubilee Mission Hospital in Thrissur, Kerala, where he breathed his last on June 18. He was 48.
Earlier this week, Sachy had undergone a total hip replacement surgery at another hospital. But, before his second surgery, he suffered a cardiac arrest and shifted to the Jubilee Mission Hospital for further treatment.
On June 16, the Jubilee Mission Hospital issued a press statement explaining Sachy‘s condition. The statement read, “He is being treated in the critical care unit with mechanical ventilation and other supportive measures. A multi disciplinary team is involved in his care. He is presently neurologically obtunded. CT Brain is suggestive of Hypoxic brain damage.”
Sachy had started his career in the Malayalam film industry as a scriptwriter. He had scripted several super hits film including Driving License, Ramaleela and Run Baby Run. He co-produced the film Chettayees under he company Thakkali Films. It followed by Ramaleela, Sherlock Toms and Driving Licence. His last film was Ayyappanum Koshiyum. He had co-scripted films such as Chocolate, Robin Hood and Seniors with Sethu. He made his directorial debut with film Anarkali.
