Producer Ekta Kapoor and Bollywood queen Kangana Ranaut coming together for one of a kind reality show titled Lock Upp. The task-based show is all set to go Live 24*7 on MX Player and Ekta’s digital platform ALT Balaji from tonight at 10pm. Reportedly, the elimination will decided between the audience and the host. The contestants will be locked inside jails as prisoners if we go by the promo.
The makers are very tight lipped about the format of the show and it will be interesting to see how the game unfolds. Here’s the list of some of the confirmed contestants of Lock upp.
Poonam Pandey
Actress and model Poonam Pandey have been courted several controversies. She debuted in Bollywood with the film Nasha in 2013. Controversy’s favourite child Poonam will now be seen in the Ekta Kapoor’s controversial reality show Lock Upp.
Munawar Faruqui
Stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui is also a confirmed participant in Kangana’s reality show Lock Upp. He was born in Gujarat to a Muslim family but they shifted to Mumbai in 2007 after the 2002 Gujarat riots. He has been performing as a stand-up comedian. However, he was accused of making malicious jokes about Hindu deities and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah during an act in 2021. He arrested by Madhya Pradesh Police in the midst of his comic act after a complaint by Eklavya Singh Gaur, son of BJP MLA Malini Gaur. However, his arrest was widely discussed and criticized for not respecting a comedian’s freedom of speech. He was granted bail by the Supreme Court of India, as reported by The Times Of India.
Nisha Rawal
Actress Nisha Rawal best known for her appearances in popular TV shows like Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki, Shaadi Mubarak, Meet: Badlegi Duniya Ki Reet. The actress have been in news for the turbulence in her personal life last year. Nisha accused her estranged husband Karan Mehra of domestic violence and they are fighting a legal battle. Nisha lives with her 4-yr-old son Kavish. And now, the actress will be seen in the Ekta Kapoor’s OTT controversial show.
Babita Phogat
Ekta Kapoor confirmed Indian female wrestler Babita Kumari Phogat’s participation by sharing her promo. Having won several medals for the country as a wrestler, Babita entered the field of entertainment with dance reality show ‘Nach Baliye’. She participated in Nach Baliye 2019 with her then fiancé Vivek Suhag. In June 2019, she announced her engagement to fellow wrestler Vivek Suhag and in November the couple tied the knot.
Karanvir Bohra
ITV actor and Bigg Boss 12 contestant Karanvir Bohra have been a popular face of television industry. new name in the industry. The popular actor is father to three baby girls and has done several films and TV shows. He best known for TV shows Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Dil Se Di Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhava?, Shararat, Naagin 2 and Qubool Hai among others. Karanvir has also been part of several reality shows along with Bigg Boss. And now, he will locked inside Kangana Ranaut hosted reality show.
Sara Khan
Actress Sara Khan have been a known face of Indian television industry. She have been part of many shows like Sapna Babul Ka…Bidaai, Preet Se Bandhi Ye Dori Ram Milaayi Jodi among others. She was also a contestant of Bigg Boss season 4. The actress finalised to participate in Kangana Ranaut’s hosted show Lock upp.
