Sumbul Touqeer Khan, Gashmeer Mahajani, and Mayuri Deshmukh starrer Imlie is getting lot of love from the audience since the beginning of the show. The show Imlie has always been a TRPs king. It is keeping the viewers hooked with it’s interesting storyline and amazing twists & turns.
Recently, in an interview with ETimes, Sumbul Touqueer Khan talked about not be able to be with her family for the shoot when the lockdown was forced, and the crew of Imlie moved to Hyderabad. She said that she truly missed her family and particularly her dad, whom she loves most. She additionally missed having homemade food.
Sumbul also shared how she wishes to make her father proud and do many things for him. She said that her parents got separated when she was six years of age. However, she said that life was different but not troublesome as she cherished her father, who dealt with her and her sister like a dad and mother, both.
She shared how her dad used to wake them up and make them eat, and they used to go to class while their dad left for office. Sumbul now wishes to get things done for her father and make him happy. She uncovered how she intends to do this for her dad and shared something stunning about her past.
The actress further said, , “As of now we are staying in a rented apartment in Mumbai. But I want to buy a house for my dad soon. I remember how he sold everything before coming to Mumbai. Although the of days of our struggle were not too many, yet they were tough. There used to be days when the only meal for the day would be one vada pav but we never complained. In fact, vada pav has saved the lives of so many strugglers in Mumbai who have very little money with them. From that day to today, when I go to the bank to deposit the paycheque, I have so much to thank god for. I now want to buy a house for my dad.”
Sumbul Touqeer Khan further talked about her film, Article 15 with Ayushmann Khurrana. She said, “I want to do more films now and the kind of films that I want to do now are more of artistic and parallel cinema kind of a film and not a regular commercial Bollywood film. Of course, two years back, I had this dream of doing a typical masala film where I play a glamorous role with my hair in the air and chaar ladke gir rahe hain when I come but not anymore. I want to do meaningful cinema now.”
