Star Plus show Anupamaa is one of the most loved and successful show on television. The show is doing well on the TRPs charts. It stars Rupali Ganguly, Gaurav Khanna and Sudhanshu Pandey in pivotal roles. Actress Aneri Vajani who plays the role of Malvika Aka Mukku in the show, returned to the show after a short break from Anupamaa in March to complete unfinished business.
Now, finally, the Beyhadh
Talking about taking up the show, Aneri says that it was the strength of the character Mukku that prompted her to do the show. The actress quoted saying, “When Rajan (Shahi, producer) sir narrated the character of Mukku, I realised that it was multi-layered and I could explore so much as an actor. More importantly, I was brought in to highlight the social evil of domestic violence. That was a game-changer for the show and for me, as an actor. It was a cameo for this particular reason.”

She added, “In a long-running show, characters are mostly defined, especially the lead characters. However, the sky was the limit for Mukku. Aisa mauka aapko kahaan milega. So, I couldn’t have declined the offer at any cost. After the short break, when Rajan sir asked me whether I would like to come back, I had to return for the love of Mukku. Par ab khatam ho gaya hai and there is no scope of coming back to the show (smiles). I have been a part of Anupamaa and Anuj’s pre-wedding rituals. Maine saari rasme nibha lee bas shaadi mein nahi rahungi. I will enjoy the wedding from Cape Town.”
Aneri will soon be flying to South Africa to participate in the reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 12 hosted by Rohit Shetty. This is Aneri’s first reality show and she’s super excited and a bit nervous too for it.
On the fiction front, Aneri now wants to take up only lead characters and shows that revolve around her. Speaking about it, she said, “I like playing strong characters and that’s why I played Mukku. As an actor, I lapped up the chance to play a part, which imparted a strong message — what happens because of domestic violence. Ek actor ki craving hoti hai ki yaar kuchh achha karo, ab woh satiate ho gayi hai aur mera pet bhar gaya hai. Now, I will focus on myself and will take up only lead roles.”
